We may still be sporting masks, but we’re back. We may still be a little hesitant about hugs and hellos, but we’re back. And it looks like the pendulum is at last swinging in our favor.
I’m so glad and maybe just a little verklempt to be the one to welcome everyone back to the LANSDOWNE FARMERS MARKET! It’s still a bit abbreviated while we adhere to PA guidelines as they are handed down, but we have great hopes that we’ll be our old rowdy selves again before the frost is on the pumpkin. Patience.
So let’s get right down to it.
The season kicks off, as it always does, on Memorial Day weekend (May 29 this year). Opening the season will be all of our weekly vendors and a sampling of the semi-regulars and newcomers. Too many to squeeze ‘em all onto the midway. If you’re like me, you’ve been waiting for what seems like forever to satisfy some old familiar cravings at some old familiar booths…I’m lookin’ at you, Franklin Fountain!
With lots more newcomers cropping up in the weeks to follow…prepare to be delighted.
I’m gonna try to give every one of them a shout-out on their first regular week. But why wait?
We have some great newbies on the 2021 roster. Some may have made a preview appearance last season, but we’re still considering them as newcomers, and deserving of a bounce. Please click on the links here to learn more about these “so hot they’re cool” venders. And then click on our vender schedule to see when they’ll be here.
HOT HOT HOT seems to be the trend in pickles and sauces…because we have TWO!
Faiya and Pickle Monster Hot Sauce will be alternating weeks with the job of lighting up the mornings and your mouth with spice…Good thing Two Locals Brewing Company will be joining the fire-fighting beer brigade.
Pink & orange isn’t just a color pallet…it’s now dressing up your refrigerator condiment section with two sauces from Planted Kitchens that are guaranteed to be just what your meats, chips and crudités have been missing.
Do YOU know what a parmesan cheese tuille is? Well, Lansdowne-based (!) Takay Catering does. If you do or if you don’t, be sure to stop by their booth and check out their way of dealing with (hint) parmesan cheese, and find out how they can give your next event the panache it deserves.
Once you’ve fed your thirst, your taste buds and your curiosity…let’s pay some attention to your skin. Let’s face it…we all deserve a little pampering after the year we’ve just been through. A little self-love is in order, and Tammys Body Butters can help smooth out the wrinkles on your inside while they rejuvenate your outside. Made for skins and souls of all genders and sensibilities.
So that’s just a taste…Now click on the link to our LFM Vendor page to peruse all of our 2021 venders …and prepare to be fed, watered and pampered in style.
REMINDER: Until further notice, the same COVID 19 protocols as last season will be in effect. Masks and no handling of merchandise are still a thing. It’s our sincere hope that the artists and musicians tents will soon reappear right where we last saw them. So stay tuned.
See you at the MARKET!
