Local residents, Charla and Dimeji, have lived in Lansdowne now for nine years. Deciding to move from Center City was a tough decision for them, but they were in search of a neighborhood where they could raise their (at the time) 8 month old son, an area that had great homes, a family atmosphere and a diversity that reflected their desires and values. Lansdowne to them fit the bill on many levels!!
Seven years into their residence in this community, they decided to put down even deeper roots by opening up a yoga studio in the heart of Lansdowne’s central business district, above the Historic Lansdowne Theatre. The impetus behind this move was not just to build a thriving business, but to also help inject the energy and vitality a place like Lansdowne deserved. Become Yoga’s doors opened officially on June 18, 2012 and Charla and Dimeji have never looked back!
Now Become Yoga is starting its second year of operation, with a new location at 12 N. Lansdowne Avenue. Become Yoga now features over eighteen practices a week, eight amazing instructors, a variety of practice styles, and appeals to all levels of yogi and fitness practitioners. Being on the main strip has proven immensely beneficial to the studio and has generated more buzz for the business and the downtown in general.
“We plan to be here, continue to grow with Lansdowne, and help to make Lansdowne a destination for decades to come” proclaims Charla Okewole.
For more information on Become Yoga, visit the website, give them a call on (267) 271-1847 or just stop by 30 minutes before class and a yogi would be happy to help out.
