…and better, baby! all better! 2023 is the place to be. It’s been a loooong three years trying to kick Covid to the curb…and now it’s time to take back our lives, and our joie de vivre (that’s French for we got this).
As I type this, all our vendors are making their lists, and checking them twice to be ready for the big Lansdowne welcome party…and you’re ALL INVITED!
Speaking of vendors…you’ll be happy to see some of your favorites return to their old spots…produce and baked goods and stuff for your health and your home. They’ll be happy to see you, too! And some new tents will be joining the midway, as well. In fact, you will no longer have to walk a whole half a block for that cuppa Joe. We’re happy to welcome Camellia Coffee to a space right here in the Market. So you won’t have to miss a thing!
One slightly serious digression: Over the last three years, many of you (and we’ve heard you) noticed a change in our vendor lineup, and in their offerings…and I think it’s fair to give our customers at least a very short version of the why.
Covid (of course) combined with our newly reinstated Delaware County Health Department has made it necessary for food vendors in particular to change their over-the-counter protocols, most especially hot food preparation and service. Vendors have had to adapt how, or even if, they can deliver their wares. Change is good, but also often difficult. But our job here is to see that we have YOU covered, and that every vendor at the Lansdowne Farmers Market is in compliance.
That is, as I said, the very short version…but please feel free to stop by our Marketing tent with any unanswered questions. We want you to be informed rather than unhappy. And there’s still plenty to eat! And drink! And do!
Which brings me to my next bit of good news! We’ve heard you…we’ve all missed the energy that music brings to the party. So, after three mostly silent years, and within the next few weeks, we are thrilled to announce that MUSIC IS BACK AT THE LANDING! We are in the process of rebuilding our talent list, and at this writing the music tent has been booked for most of the Market season, with the return of some old favorites and the debut of some new sounds…with my thanks to all who have answered the call. It’s been a challenge…although it may have been my offer…OK, threat… of two hours of Show Tunes with Terry & Skyler that turned the tide.
We still have some open music slots…so if you want to know more about the music, please see me at the Marketing tent…or at the Landing. I’ll just leave that last thought right there.
Of course, we’ll have our increasingly popular Community Days on the last Saturday of each month, and spaces fill up fast, so get yourself on the schedule early.
And look for a return of another great and greatly missed tradition, DOGGIE DAY!, in early September. Maybe we’ll come up with some new traditions while we’re at it. So, make plans to join us as we head into summer and beyond.
Anyway…be sure and check out our LFM website to be in the weekly know. Be one of the cool kids. And while you’re here reading this…be sure to read ALL of the weekly LEDC newsletter to keep track of all the coming events on and around “The Ave.” And there will be A LOT. Change is coming. Some has already happened. You don’t want to miss any of it.
Artist alert! We kick off the season with someone who will always be Lansdowne’s own Liz Steele Coats with her New Creations line of silver baubles and other sparkly stuff. We know there’s someone on your gift list who deserves some of that.
So be there or be square.
