OMG! It’s really here! I thought it’d NEVER!

Lansdowne is a great place to be any time of the year, but come Memorial Day things really start to snap, crackle and POP, with the kick-off of the weekly Farmers Market on the Avenue.  From 9am to 1pm every Saturday, rain or shine, we’ve got you covered for treats and meats, and yes please, the cheese!  Stuff that smells good and lotions that feel good.  And as if that isn’t enough, each week will feature a different artist or crafter to decorate your home…or yourself, and our music tent will have you movin’, groovin’ or just happy to be there, whether it’s rock and roll, folk, country, or maybe a mandolin serenade.  Visit our site to see just who, what and when.

Every week this space will give you a recap of the day, and maybe a tiny tease of what’s next, but there’s just too much to cram it all in…so make it a habit (after reading this, of course) to visit the Lansdowne Farmers Market site where you can find all things LFM, including our schedule of vendors, and special events like Community Days, Kid Day and the ever popular Doggie Parade!

So whether you’re the new kid in town or an old friend…bring on those lazy crazy hazy days of summer…those days of baked goods, burritos and breads. Come see everyone you’ve missed all winter long. Come sit in the sun, listen to music, and watch the passing scene. Lansdowne is waiting to tempt you, feed you, welcome you!

And as if all that STILL isn’t enough, this weekend brings a special reason to come and celebrate…the grand opening of the Lansdowne Landing, our town’s open invitation to sit, relax and enjoy life in a small town.

-Terry Baraldi, Lifelong Lansdowner and community volunteer at large.
