What’s for Breakfast?

We’ve spent the summer hangin’ out at the produce tables, and we’ve seen and tasted it all…from asparagus to the annual onslaught of the zucchini…but change is in the air.

So as the seasons and offerings prepare for their next act, maybe we should take this time to explore some of the other edible opportunities to be found along our LFM midway. Let’s talk breakfast.  How do you do it?

Truth:  Do you eat yours at your kitchen table or in your car? Or some combination of the two?  I’m not here to judge.  But 2021 being what it is, whatever works for you…make it a meal with benefits.  And here at the LFM we can help.

Life in the fast lane: Let’s start with, what else? Coffee. Sure you could stop at WaWa or that other place, but wouldn’t you rather wake up to the smell of fresh roast from one of LFM’s coffee vendors? Hope you’ve stocked up.  Maybe one cup to get you started and another when you start your car?

And to go with?  A hearty hunk of bread from BigSky?  One fiber-packed muffin from Oatastic?  A scone from My House Cookies? A pack of mini FireHouse Donuts?  It’s all good, but please at least add a piece of fruit or you’ll be hearing your mom inside your head the whole way to work.   And don’t forget a napkin.

Slow as you go:  A half-cheek perch at the table, napkins within reach.  A generous slice of BigSky bread, this time toasted, with a schmeer of chèvre from Amazing Acres Dairy.   One last handful of BigSky granola while you check the weather forecast.  And, of course, that cuppa joe to go….and fruit….don’t forget the fruit!

Must be Sunday:  A full-on sit-down, actual plates and silverware with the napkins, and a whole pot of coffee!  Maybe this is the week to give a pass to the bacon and scrambleds, and instead griddle up a stack of flapjacks drizzled all over with Ridge Valley Maple’s pure maple syrup. NOTE:  Ridge Valley only comes to the LFM on the LAST SATURDAY of each month…so look sharp this weekend or you’ll miss out.  And come early.  She sells out.

And go withs, while they’re still here: fresh chunks of ‘lope or watermelon.  A perfect nectarine, peach or plum.  Mom would approve.

When is butter not for bread?  When it’s Tammy’s Body Butters.  Stop by and get your skin fed.

To learn more about our vendors and what they sell, visit our LFM site.  As always, you can find any last minute updates to our vendor schedule and events on our FB page.

Fall is coming, so don’t waste one single last minute of the summer.  Time enough later for shoes and sweaters.

Stay chill…

Terry Baraldi
